Revenge Finale:Thoughts from Revengers

When I sat down to write about ABC's hit drama, Revenge, it was in response to the outcry of fans on the cancellation of the series. After four wonderful seasons, people from around the world fell in love with Emily Thorne aka Amanda Clarke. So it was no surprise that there was quite the outrage over the cancellation. Revenge fans, aka "Revengers", are upset with the network and continue to mourn the loss of their beloved fictional characters.

While ABC announced last week that they were pulling the show, Revengers united in an attempt to save it. Taking to Twitter and Face Book, they created trending hash tags in an effort to save the show. Treating Revenge fan groups (on Face Book) as "support groups". They even formed online petitions in hopes of getting enough signatures to bring Revenge back for a fifth season.  That didn't last long. So what happened next? Look at the ABC logo. See how it is circled with a big fat "x"?

Yeah, Revengers did that. It was a revenge-esque way of calling out the network for what they believed to be a bad call. I think it was quite brilliant (and humorous). After all...revenge is for infinity, right?

As for me, after seeing the finale, I am quite sure that Revenge went out the way it started- unforgettable. Yeah sure there may have been several story lines they could have come up with to house a season five. But there is such a thing as getting out while you're still on top. And Revenge writers seem to have gotten it right. The finale was beautifully written and satisfyingly tied up all loose ends. We were even graced with a tiny cliffhanger. Who knows...maybe a spin-off with Nolan Ross is in order?

Until next time Revengers.
